He was born as Kapil Punj in Amritsar, Punjab, to a head constable and a housewife, Unfortunately, Kapil lost his father to monstrous cancer in the year 2004. Kapil Sharma completed his education at Shri Ram Ashram Senior Secondary School, Amritsar, and then from Hindu college in the same city. He is well-versed in Punjabi and Hindi languages.
