Gucci Mane was born on February 12, 1980, in Bessemer, Alabama. He was born to a former U.S serviceman and power plant worker Everett Dudley and a teacher as well as social worker, Vicky Jean Davis. Davis has quite complicated family ties and relationships. Davis’s father was, unfortunately, a drug dealer and was on the run for the same from police when Davis was born. Hence, Davis had to take his mother’s last name. Davis was taught to read at a young age as his mother was a teacher. He did his schooling at Jonesboro Elementary. Davis’s older half-brother, known as Victor is responsible for introducing Davis to hip hop when Davis was as young as six years old. The first concert ever which Davis attended at such a young age was “Run-DMC, Beastie Boys, and LL Cool J concert. Davis’s father had another family in Atlanta who were prioritized more than Davis and his mother. As we can see Davis’s childhood was full of hardships where he grew up in an area that was known to be extremely high in crime rates. His childhood was surely difficult to cope with. He later attended Cedar Grover Elementary School and considered himself good in athletics. He completed his graduation from Georgia Perimeter College in the year 1998. To make ends meet, Davis, with his older brother had to deal drugs, mostly Cannabis. He worked as a drug dealer from years 1993-2001.
